Alone we go faster, but together we go further
Our CEO, Ged Tyrrell, began his journey in the industry as an apprentice for a leading Building Management Systems and Controls firm in 1987. Drawing from his extensive experience in the controls and BMS industry, Ged recognised the transformative potential of technology in the early ’90s, particularly in connecting disparate systems within buildings. Directing a dedicated team in his previous role, Ged led projects that showcased the future trajectory of the industry. With a modest initial investment of £6,000, Ged founded Tyrrell Systems Ltd in 1997, guided by a clear vision of the evolving landscape of modern buildings and their operational dynamics.
Over the years, our group’s business units have expanded, including the addition of Tyrrell Products—a cutting-edge software and hardware manufacturing and distribution entity. In 2019, we acquired Simaxx BV, now known as Tyrrell Analytics, revolutionising data analytics to enhance building operations and reporting through a SaaS-based software platform. In 2020, we created the Halo brand, initiating R&D on IoT solutions to address the pressures of reducing energy and carbon dependency in the housing industry.
All business units have experienced steady growth, attracting a growing clientele and forging new partnerships for Tyrrell Building Technologies Group.
