Tyrrell Building Technologies is a group of companies, who operate in the market of Smart Building Technology. The principle aims of the companies in the group are to create hardware and software products, provide engineering services, training and support and use SAAS based analytics software to deliver energy savings, improve well-being, reduce maintenance costs and increase sustainability.

The group CEO, Ged Tyrrell started his career as an apprentice for a market leading Building Management Systems and Controls firm in 1987. Ged is a self-motivated individual with a highly technical capability that underpins his desire for a successful business. Ged continually works with external coaches and undertakes personal development to counter any weak spots, such as those for strategic sales and management accounts.

Following the experience of the controls and BMS industry, technology in the early 90s enabled the connectivity of different systems in buildings. Ged led a small team of people in his previous company delivering such projects and Ged had the vision to see this as the future of the industry. Starting with £6K in 1997 he formed the first business in the group, Tyrrell Systems Ltd, and grew this business into a group of companies through the Private investment following a clear insight into the future of modern buildings and how they operate.

Those insights have proven to have been valid, showing continual growth and profits with recent advances throughout and coming out of the pandemic.
